The first time Dragonfly Denny encounters the spirit of the Dragonfly King she doesn’t see him, she “hears a voice.” Do you have a spiritual sense of discerning Divine Guidance? How do you experience that “voice”? Is it characterized by kindness, warmth, gentleness, and compassion; or does it have a harsh, controlling, punitive, cold, or distant feel? Often the kind of treatment we received from those in authority in our lives when we were children influences our perception of a Creator − until we begin to travel a path of healing.

The Dragonfly King saw Denny’s discouragement and how it caused her to “kiss her dreams goodbye.” In spite of that, however, he also pointed out that there was a yearning in her heart she couldn’t deny − because there was a task that had been specifically crafted for her.
