An ancient prophet named Isaiah
from the Middle East he prophesied
that there would come a day
when we’d rebuild the ruined cities
become repairers of the breach
restore the streets in which to dwell
raise up the devastated . . .
all crooked things made straight
this and more Good News for us
that we would want to tell ―
“Proclaim liberty to captives
comfort those who mourn
exchange ashes for real beauty . . .”
then . . . a Deliverer was born.
~
Christ led the way to show us how
we begin to rebuild cities.
He left the ninety nine for one
rejected, left out, lost
brokenhearted, desolate,
“Value them.” He taught.
His Spirit came at Pentecost
brought vision, dreams for all.
Let’s set our minds on things above
so we can hear the Kingdom’s call.

The early church made peace between
the Jew and all non-Jews.
That reconciliation
covers all folks everywhere
that’s me, each one of you.
So let’s join hands all races . . .
all faces . . . and all ages
regardless of economic status.
There is a task God has for us ―
a role we have to play.
So Spirit please reveal the gap
that we’re to fill we pray.
Make us honed effective tools
so we’ll be ready every day
to see the one You call me to
to help, or heal today.
