The scriptures say that it’s the truth
that sets the prisoner free.
Bondage then is built by lies
fortified/enforced
by partners who join hand in hand
an interlocking thread
that circles round and round again
to spin a spider’s web.

The unsuspecting hearer then
of those who speak their lies
is victim soon who will fall prey
deceived by grand design.
So twist the truth, and spin your lies
like Jacob ’fore the angel came
and set his soul aright.
’Tis better to be limping with
the knowledge of the truth
than dig a hole that marks your grave
and swallows up alive.

Woe is me if I suppress
the truth in all unrighteousness.
For there’s a reckoning of wrong that’s done
as sure as shining of the sun.
It may come soon or be delayed.
No one knows the time or day.
But be assured that it will come.
Be diligent to make undone
lies that you or I have spun.
~
If I am called to steward truth
within the soul of me
and you do too, then we join hands
multiplied by three
then it becomes a stronger cord
that cannot easily be
broken…bent…or twisted…or
diminished by a thief.
~
Futile ’tis to rage against
the truth that sets us free.
A house that’s built upon the sand
will fall before the great I AM.
